Weekend links

These are my notes from a podcast from Pastor Ed Young.
They truly don't do it justice. If you are interested, subscribe to his podcasts!

This week I came across an honest post and new link up I just might need to try.

I found a new way to look at the reason why we go to church, and I couldn't agree more.

As someone who grew up watching my parents' marriage end in divorce, I am always thankful to find posts like these, on Godly marriages.

And last, but not least, I've been working on this for quite a while, and am getting much better at it. But it's always good to be reminded.

Have a blessed weekend!

Weekend links

As a soon-to-be Christian mommy, this week two posts captured my heart about raising children in a God-glorifying way: this one and this one.

I loved this video. Don't get me wrong, I am a football fan, but that makes it even more beautiful to me.

This post really hit home with me. We are in the midst of a transition phase, and I feel tugged just like the young man, between what I know to be true and what my heart seems to desire.

Have a trully blessed weekend!

Weekend Links

Good morning y'all!

Here is what touched me this week in the blogworld.

Edie wrote about her dreams, and it is impossible not to get emotional about them.

Jon Bloom wrote about taking heart over at Desiring God.

Jennifer Thomas wrote about the one person YOU need to forgive over at (in)courage.

What about you, any post suggestions?

God bless you!

(Better late than never) Weekend links

I missed posting weekend links on Saturday. As I debated whether to scrap them altogether, I figured I'd rather share great posts others wrote than write my own. This is what touched my heart this past week:

(in)courage talked about being a happier mom. Good thing I read this before putting myself through the wringer!

Pete Wilson talked about two things a marriage needs. I'll be honest in admitting the first abounds in my marriage, the second is something I really need to work on!

John Piper as usual wrote an incredible post. So inspiring!

And I don't usually recommend YouVersion reading plans, but this one is a great one for mommies everywhere!

Happy reading, and have a great week!

Here is some good reading for a great weekend:

Jason Eric Brooks wrote about Noah waiting to leave the ark. I only found his blog last week, but have been loving his posts. Let's just say that six months into trying to sell a house that was guaranteed by the Realtor to go within six weeks has made me relate to this.

Holley Gerth wrote about not having to do more for (in)courage. Amen, sister!

Desiring God touched on an all-too-familiar subject I've been running across lately. Love it when that happens.

God bless you!

(in)courage community groups

Right now I am a non-active part of a group. I've been struggling with my schedule, with extra job pressure and physical demands which make me come home at night ready to shower and go to bed, and even struggling with credit card issues of my amazon account. So instead of being able to tell you about my book club, which I am so happy to be a part of and honestly can't believe I am a member of a book club (!), I get to tell you only about the groups themselves.

Just because I haven't gotten my life organized enough to take part, doesn't mean you can't. (in)courage is an awesome community of women, and if you have any small thoughts about maybe possibly liking it just a bit, I promise you will.

Check them out! There are plenty of groups to choose from!

Weekend links

Last night I did a lot of reading, and catching up on my blogloving roll. I was getting better from being sick, and since I had spent most of the day sleeping, insomnia started setting it. Here is some of the best stuff I came accross:

Desiring God had a podcast on why safety is a myth. It was just what I needed to hear.

Amanda Medlin wrote about the type of fan she is.

Saved sister talked about fear. Oh boy.

And (in)courage shared about missing the curve.

I see a pattern on my reading list...I feel like I am about to step out of my confort zone and touch some creepy water creatures. More about that on Monday.

Weekend links

By the time you read this, I'll be officially on vacation. Can I get a woohoo???

That would be my hubby, my cousins and I being absolutely silly at a Cirque Du Soleil show. I promise it will make some sense once I tell ya what I am doing during the holidays, but that will be another day!

Resourceful Mommy was blessed enough to be invited to some events for the opening of the new Fantasyland at Walt Disney World Resort. She shared some pictures here and here.

(in)courage shared a beautiful story that brought tears to my eyes.

Desiring God talked about when we don't want to wait. Ahem. That might apply to me. JUst a tad.

Mindy over @ My Life As... shared her top ten Christmas songs. Y'all, I am so in love with Christmas music, that I probably wouldn't be able to pick ten. Although this might be my all time favorite:

Weekend links

Yay for weekends!

This weekend promises to be quite special. My husband and I are away in our church's couple's retreat. I'll be posting about it next week, as I am sure I'll soak up a lot!

Here are this week's suggestions:

It's been clear that I am currently devouring everything from Desiring God. I was overjoyed to see a special 2012 advent calendar being released, as always, for free!

Katie Brown posted on (in)courage about saying Yes. This was truly inspiring for me. I've been thinking and praying about New Year's resolutions (yes, already!) and this struck a chord!

Lysa TerKeurst wrote not one, but two posts I could relate to. Both of these are things God has been dealing with on my life: this one and this one.

On a lighter note, if I ever get way ambitious, I should make these. Yeah, right. Who am I kidding? I'll just buy them at the grocery store.

Lots of love!

Weekend Links

May your weekend be filled with hours of rest, doing nothing and being still. And laughter. Lots of laughter.

Here is what I recommend this week:

Annie wrote over at (in)courage about how God needs to speak louder than Nutella sometimes. As a sweet tooth, I can relate.

Wendy has a seven year old prayer coming true. God is good!

Emily Freeman wrote just what I needed to read.

And last, but certainly not least, I finally took some time to watch Sara's story. When you do, I hope you watch it too! The video is extremely touching, and it reminded me of why I started this blog in the first place.

As you can probably tell, I am suggesting about half of my usual number of weekend links. That's how busy my week has been, and how much God has prompted for me to look for Him in His Word instead of other people's lately. Nothing wrong with reading blogs, I just need to keep in check how long I spend doing it!

God bless,

Julie
